Notice how this @emirates A380’s rudder is “split” at the top and bottom during pushback? It looks like something’s broken… but it’s actually exactly what it’s designed to do. The A380 has a split rudder (upper lower sections) and when the aircraft is on stand, before the hydraulics are fully pressurised, those huge control surfaces can “float” a little. So if there’s even a light breeze, the rudder may gently move… sometimes with the top and bottom not perfectly aligned. It’s exactly the same a
